DISA Updates Inmarsat Broadband Satcom Support RFI to Cover CMMC Requirements

The Defense Information Systems Agency has issued an updated request for information on broadband satellite communications services to add requirements for meeting Level 3 Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program criteria. DISA said in the updated notice posted Wednesday that the U.S. Space Force seeks Inmarsat resellers to provide services and equipment that support the Inmarsat-built Global Xpress satellite and Broadband Global Area Network.

ULA Sends Atlas V Rocket to Space Force for 5th SBIRS Satellite Launch

United Launch Alliance has shipped its Atlas V vehicle to the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida ahead of launching a Lockheed Martin-built satellite that will join a constellation of missile-warning spacecraft. An Atlas V 421 rocket will send the Space-Based Infrared System Geosynchronous Earth Orbit 5 satellite to orbit on behalf of the Space and Missile Systems Center, ULA said Thursday.

The U.S. Space Force plans to launch a solicitation for commercial satellite communications services in support of the U.S. military and various government entities. USSF said Wednesday in a request for information notice that its Commercial Satellite Communications Office seeks proliferated low Earth orbit services that can facilitate data transfers with a maximum latency of 50 milliseconds.

Raytheon Technologies announced Tuesday that the U.S. Navy has awarded the company's intelligence and space business a five-year contract worth $146 million to continue operating and maintaining the U.S. government's Relocatable Over-the-Horizon Radar (ROTHR) system. Kratos Defense and Security Solutions helped Space Vector and the U.S. Space Force launch a scientific experiment via a sounding rocket from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia on March 3.
