Global Air Logistics and Training to Manufacture Prototype Airborne Payloads for Marine Corps

Global Air Logistics and Training will build and deliver four prototype airborne networking and communication systems to the U.S. Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory under a $23.9 million contract. The Fused Integrated Naval Network communications gateway is designed to work with an unmanned air vehicle to explore the sharing of data between distributed forces, GALT said Monday.

The U.S. Army has selected Trident Systems' predictive maintenance technology as the winner of a combat vehicle-focused topic area for a competition under the military branch's Small Business Innovation Research initiative. Trident said Thursday it will receive funding to develop its Predictive Maintenance Analyzer as part of the Army xTech SBIR effort's “Topic F: Condition Based Maintenance for Combat Vehicles“ track.

USMC Exercises $184M Option on BAE Amphibious Combat Vehicle Production Contract

The U.S. Marine Corps has exercised a $184 million contract option to procure additional amphibious combat vehicles from BAE Systems, increasing the number of ACV full-rate production units ordered by the branch to 72. “The ACV was designed to meet the Marines' needs of today while allowing for growth to meet future mission role requirements," said John Swift, director of amphibious programs at BAE.
