U.S. Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James showed a concept design for the military branch’s future B-21A Long Range Strike Bomber plane during an air warfare symposium held Friday in Orlando, Florida.

“The B-21 has been designed from the beginning based on a set of requirements that allows the use of existing and mature technology,” James said Friday.

She called on airmen to suggest ideas for the official name of the LRS-B aircraft.

The Air Force awarded Northrop Grumman an engineering and manufacturing development contract in October to build its next fleet of bombers.

A BoeingLockheed Martin team has abandoned plans to bring their LRS-B contract award concerns to federal claims court a week after the Government Accountability Office denied a protest submitted by the two companies.
