The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing's defense, space and security division a contract modification involving the purchase of its 12th communication space vehicle under the Wideband Global Satellite Communication constellation. A Boeing-led industry team and the Missile Defense Agency have demonstrated the ability of the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense system to intercept an intermediate-range ballistic missile target. During the test, a three-stage GMD interceptor was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, which deployed an RTX-built Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle to intercept a threat-representative ballistic missile target air-launched from the Board Ocean Area, Boeing said Monday.

The joint venture of Boeing and Textron’s Bell subsidiary has received a potential five-year, $41.2 million contract from the Defense Logistics Agency to provide engineering and logistics sustainment support for the V-22 Osprey aircraft platform. The first test version of the U.S. Air Force's T-7A Red Hawk has arrived at Edwards Air Force Base in California where developmental flight testing for the Boeing-built advanced pilot training aircraft will begin. The aircraft, dubbed APT-2, traveled from Boeing's production facility in St. Louis, Missouri, and made stops at air bases in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona to refuel, the defense contractor said Thursday.

Boeing has delivered to the U.S. Army the 100th unit of the Next Generation Automatic Test System, a mobile platform designed to quickly detect and isolate defects in electronic line replaceable units on M1 Abrams and M2 Bradley combat vehicles. The company said Thursday it partnered with Teradyne and Logisys to hand over the NGATS platform to the Army.
