The U.S. Air Force is soliciting proposals to build an integrated operations platform for the U.S. Cyber Command through the General Services Administration‘s Alliant contract vehicle, Fifth Domain reported Friday.
Defense Department officials have said that Cybercom’s future Unified Platform will work to support cyber defense, planning command-and-control and situational awareness efforts.
USAF issued a solicitation notice to Alliant contract holders in the second week of June and the service branch will accept responses through mid-July, the report noted.
The service branch seeks $45.8 million in research and development funds for the Unified Platform program through fiscal 2021.
A USAF spokesperson told the publication that the branch’s Life Cycle Management Center will be the platform’s system integrator and also manage an industry team to deploy the technology.
