Boeing has selected Kaman's aerospace business segment to produce structural assemblies and wing control surfaces in line with the U.S. Air Force's A-10 Thunderbolt Advanced Wing Continuation Kitting program.

Kaman said Friday it will manufacture inboard and outboard flaps, speed brake assemblies and slats to help Boeing update USAF's A-10 Thunderbolt II fleet.

Boeing secured a potential 11-year, $999M contract to deliver 112 wing sets and spare kits for the aircraft.

“We have developed a great working relationship with Boeing to support our mutual Customer, the U.S. Air Force, in their efforts to extend the life of this iconic aircraft to 2030 and beyond,“ said William Zmyndak, vice president and general manager at Kaman's integrated structures and metallics group.
