AECOM Lands Potential $192M Army Task Order to Support Tactical Network Delivery; John Vollmer Quoted

TYSONS CORNER, VA, January 13, 2020 — AECOM’s (NYSE: ACM) management services group will provide integrated logistics services for U.S. Army tactical equipment as part of a potential five-year, $192M task order awarded under the General Services Administration Schedule contract, GovCon Wire reported Thursday.

The company said Wednesday it will help transport a unified tactical network for the service branch's Communications-Electronics Command at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.

“We are proud to expand our support of critical Command, Control, Communications, Computers,Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance systems for our nation’s defense,” said John Vollmer, president of AECOM’s management services business and a 2019 Wash100 winner.

AECOM agreed in October to sell the unit led by Vollmer to two private equity firms and expects to complete the $2.4B deal in the first half of its 2020 fiscal year.
