Perspecta's applied research unit has booked a pair of potential four-year awards worth $25M combined to help the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency develop and demonstrate a 5G network security architecture. Perspecta Labs will conduct design, development and integration efforts under DARPA's Open, Programmable, Secure 5G initiative with the goal of protecting technologies such as connected sensors and servers.

Perspecta's research arm has received a potential seven-year, $24.7M contract to provide telecommunications and engineering standards support to aid the U.S. Navy in its emergency preparedness and national security initiatives.

Perspecta has entered into a collaboration agreement with NextgenID to develop an identity proofing solution to remotely assess and verify the identity of individuals who apply for credentials to gain physical and network access to government facilities, Perspecta reported on Tuesday. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) updated the SP800-63A standard to enable the use of remote identity proofing for federal agencies.
