Raytheon Technologies' intelligence and space business has teamed up with CAES to develop a connectivity platform for U.S. Air Force aircraft to access commercial satellite internet services. CAES said Monday it will build a radio frequency signal converter for integration into a phased array antenna Raytheon is developing to support the Air Force Research Laboratory-led Defense Experimentation Using Commercial Space Internet program.

A joint venture between CAE USA and Pinaccle Solutions has received a delivery order to update a suite of systems used to train U.S. Army personnel in watercraft operations. Xebec Government Services will refresh expeditionary fast transport, vessel defense and full mission bridge simulator configurations in the service branch's Maritime Integrated Training System, CAE said Tuesday.

CAES and Colorado Engineering Inc. will collaborate on the development of advanced technology planned for integration into radars, electronic warfare and communications systems, datalinks and missile seekers to meet needs of government and aerospace and defense prime contractors.

CAES was tapped by an unnamed fifth generation wireless technology manufacturer to supply a millimeter wave up- and down-converter that will be designed and developed to be applicable to 5G equipment and capable of supporting the 28 GHz and 39 GHz bands and multichannel communications.

CAE's U.S. business arm has secured a contract of an undisclosed sum from the U.S. Air Force to provide and manage the military pilot training activities of 14 Irish Air Corps students over an 18-month period. The initial phase of the pilot training program will be overseen by CAE USA subcontractor SkyWarrior Flight Training and will be conducted in Pensacola, Florida.

Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions (CAES) has received a hypersonic antenna development contract of an undisclosed sum from the U.S. government. The company said Monday the contract will require CAES to develop innovative antenna communication devices that could be applied to hypersonic technologies.

CAE's U.S. subsidiary has received a prime contract to train aircraft pilots of U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the company's Dothan Training Center and other business aviation facilities. CAE USA will provide training on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft in classroom, simulated and actual flight environments to help pilots meet requirements imposed by CBP and the Federal Aviation Administration, CAE said Tuesday.

A CAE subsidiary has received a subcontract from BAE Systems for services in support of the latter's work to develop a new cloud-powered training environment for the U.S. Marine Corps. CAE said Wednesday its USA Mission Solutions subsidiary will help BAE prototype cloud models and simulations for USMC Base Quantico's planned Wargaming Center under a $19M contract the military branch awarded to BAE in August.
